The 12th Annual Pediatric Cancer Foundation Grand Slam Celebrity Fishing Tournament presented by The Yerrid Foundation and sponsored by Nestle Purina PetCare was held October 23-25, 2009 at the breathtaking Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida. We were once again honored to have Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs as our celebrity host and enjoyed another fabulous weekend filled with fishing, food and fun for a very special cause.

As you know, the 12th Annual Pediatric Cancer Foundation Grand Slam Celebrity Fishing Tournament presented by The Yerrid Foundation and sponsored by Nestle Purina PetCare continues to be the premier fishing tournament on Florida's West Coast. An IGFA-sanctioned and qualifying event featuring two full days of inshore angling, our tournament boasts a guest list that includes some of the best fishermen in the world, baseball and football greats, all topped off with a little bit of Hollywood! Because we host one of very few first-class tournaments, we attract an exclusive clientele of fishing and boating enthusiasts.

One of the highlights of this  year's tournament weekend was The Fishermen’s Ball which brought together tournament sponsors, anglers, celebrities and guides to support our research for finding a cure for pediatric cancer. This year’s Fishermen’s Ball was held in the Vinoy’s beautiful Tea Garden and featured cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and an incredible live and silent auction.

While The Yerrid Foundation has sponsored the Kids' Fishing Derby for many years, we were pleased to welcome them as this year's title sponsor for the tournament. We were also proud to welcome back Nestle Purina PetCare as our presenting sponsor and appreciate their continued partnership.
