Bright House Networks Fashion Funds the Cure is not your average fashion show. In addition to the professional runway show, Fashion Funds the Cure features young superstars - children who are currently battling pediatric cancer.
Guests and supporters are treated to a night of high fashion, private shopping, a silent auction, and delicious delicacies from the area's finest restaurants. They also enjoy the most heartwarming fashion show they will ever see.
Bright House Networks Fashion Funds the Cure is an amazing event benefiting the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF). PCF is dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer. Our focus is to find less toxic, more targeted therapies by partnering with leading hospitals nationwide. Our friends at Saks Fifth Avenue shut down their entire store to support this heartwarming and important cause. In addition to enjoying scrumptious food from some of the area’s top restaurants, you will also enjoy private shopping (15% store discount) and Orlando’s best charity auction. Last year's auction featured celebrity packages including meeting Katie Couric, Larry King, Matt Lauer and Nancy Grace, vacation packages including Paris, Vail and Mexico, tickets to television shows, spas, restaurants, phenomenal gift items and much, much more. The highlight of the evening will be our Fashion Show featuring approximately 25 beautiful young women, ages 2 to 18, who are courageously tackling their disease.
NBA Hall of Famer Julius Erving ("Dr. J") and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freema served as celebrity hosts of the 4th Annual Fashion Funds the Cure - Orlando event. The Honorary Chairs for the night were WFTV Channel 9 anchor and ongoing PCF supporter Vanessa Welch and the First Lady of Orlando, Karen Dyer.
Wait…there’s more. Local celebrities will be escorting all of our beautiful young ladies down the runway. Last year, these celebrities included Jeff Faine, Dick Batchelor, Nick Anderson, Commissioner Bill Segal, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lucille O’Neal, Mayor Buddy Dyer, Johnny Magic, Congressman Alan Grayson, Jim Atchinson, Scott Maxwell, Dave Collins, Daryl Talley, Jason Brewer and several other celebrity supporters. Last year there was hardly a dry eye in the house as the beautiful girls demonstrated their splendor and bravery strutting down the runway with their escorts.
